Ground School

Ground school courses for first jumpers are conducted on weekday evenings at the ICARUS skydiving school in Edenvale. Registration is at 16h30 and the course starts at 17h00. During the evening all the ground school theory will be covered, followed by a practical evaluation at the airfield on the weekend.
The outline of the first jump course is as follows:

• Introduction and documentation
• Equipment
• Aircraft drills & procedures
• The Exit and Arch (including body position and count)
• Theory of free fall
• Canopy control
• Malfunction theory and reserve drills
• Landings
• Revision and consolidation
